About Me.

The What if... therapist has been born from a combination of knowing too well what it's like to be consumed by anxious thoughts and a professional love for working with uncertainty. Like most of us, I spent my younger adult life navigating a lot of anxious thoughts and 'what ifs...'.  My professional training as a therapist has allowed me to uncover and understand anxiety in a way that it no longer impacts me in the same way.  Of course I still get anxious, but the difference is now I understand it and know what to do.

Now I'm here to share my learning with you.

Today's world isn't set up for us to 'tolerate'. We can get most things at the click of a button and we get it pretty much instantly. Gone are the days of waiting to top your phone up so you can reply to your texts or having to use a map to get somewhere. We have it all. We've become a generation of wanting and getting quick fixes. Whilst it has advantages, it also means that we aren't very good at 'not knowing'. This has a huge impact on how well we cope with unavoidable life uncertainties and can contribute towards many common anxiety disorders.

I have worked as a Cognitive Behavioural therapist for 7 years and I specialise in working with people who have become consumed by worries and feel overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety. Sound like you? Check out how I can help you with 1-1 therapy or The what if workshop.

My therapy.

I want you to enjoy coming to therapy but I will also encourage you to make the changes necessary to notice a difference.

I'm really invested in your wellbeing and will celebrate your milestones with you.

It doesn't have to be all serious and clinical.  I want to make talking about the tricky stuff as easy as possible.

I'm confident about what I do and will tell you if I don't think I'm the best fit for you in our first meetings.

I offer a free consultation call because it's really important to me that you feel comfortable before committing to a course of therapy (no offence either way, we can't get on with everyone!)

Outside of work

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne with my husband, two children and two cats.

I'm an Autumn person, give me jumpers and cups of tea all year round!

I'm an Aries through and through. Very passionate and determined, sometimes to my own detriment.

I have a very rare autoimmune condition, to which I have lost some sight and hearing.

I love the colour orange, lattes, online shopping, going on holiday and routinely getting my gel nails refreshed!

I practice regular mindfulness and gratitude and really believe in their benefits.
